A Brief History of Numerology
Numerology is not simply a “new age” phenomenon but has been around for over 2,500 years. The system utilised by many practitioners today was first contemplated by Pythagoras, the famed Greek scholar and mystic, who spent years studying and teaching students.
Along with his interest in Astrology, Mathematics and Philosophy, his works influenced others who followed such as Plato and Aristotle, before eventually making its way into Western civilisation.
In the 20th century, Numerology again became popular and over the decades, dedicated studies and research was conducted to test its validity.
Today, Numerology is practised by many around the globe and used on a personal and professional basis to assist people in learning how to achieve their highest potential.
The Spiritual Aspect
Numerology is a philosophy which incorporates some spiritual concepts, primarily Reincarnation.
The ideology is that each soul has much to learn and each time we return to the earthly realm, we face new lessons, are presented with new challenges and can (hopefully) put to use what we have previously experienced.
By learning in each lifetime, our soul can evolve to higher levels of consciousness.
The concept of Karma is another component of Numerology – that what we put out is what we receive back.
By identifying what Karma may exist (sometimes there is none), we can actively work towards addressing issues and challenges, taking on the lessons our soul still needs to master.
However, to receive a Numerology reading, you do not have to share in these beliefs but merely be open to new ideas and ways of thinking which may provide you greater insights into yourself you weren’t aware of.
We all seek to live happy, healthy, and balanced lives but sometimes struggle to do so.
With a Numerology reading, you are given insight into who you really are – which will give you an edge and the impetus to follow your true self and achieve your highest potential.
My Interest in Numerology
During my journey to greater self-awareness, I was introduced to the practice of Numerology by a teacher of a spiritual centre.
On obtaining my own personal chart, I was amazed at how accurate and insightful it was – detailing aspects of my character, my traits and desires, and specific life path and lessons.
Some information was new and exciting, while other revelations opened up aspects of myself that I’d buried over the years but inherently knew still existed. Having this knowing revealed through my own “numbers” gave me the inspiration to learn more.
Over the years, I’ve studied several courses as well as read numerous texts on the subject by the leaders in the field of Numerology. These include Juno Jordan, Hans Decoz, Matthew Goodwin, Shirley Lawrence and Michelle Buchanan, to name a few.
From their teachings, I have developed a Numerology profile full of insights, guidance and potentials that I love to share with anyone interested in their own self-awareness journey.
As I continue my studies into Astrology and the Gene Keys, I hope to incorporate this knowledge into my profile which will give a more indepth insight for individuals seeking answers.
